Provide a short summary of why you should be selected by the community as a Digital Experience MVP
I have been working in the digital experience space for over a decade across a number of different platforms, working for both agencies and customers. What I love is to create discourse as I'm a firm believer that discussion results in new ideas and new perspectives. I've had the unique experience of coming from a deeply technical background and being able to apply software engineering principles to marketing and content to provide a perspective that's atypical to traditional marketing - and that's a lot of fun.
Contributions you have made in the Digital Experience (DX) community online and in-person (i.e., blog posts, podcasts, webinars, encouraged others to join)?
I've spoken at numerous conferences both domestic and international, including Sitecore's flagship conferences, local user group meetings, and developer community conferences. In addition, I have a blog (georgechang.io) for more long form thoughts, though much of my contributions has been more ad-hoc, typically initiating and participating in discussion threads in various communities on Slack, Discord, and LinkedIn, as well as social channels such as X/Twitter, Mastodon, and Bluesky.
What encouraging words would you like to share with those new to the community and perhaps new in their career?
There's a lot to learn and we're all learning! The digital experience space, as it's largely technology-driven, ebbs and flows as quickly as technology changes, constantly providing a new opportunity to dive into something new or provide a new perspective on some long-held beliefs that can change and mold the entire community. Who knows - your participation in a conversation could be the catalyst for the next big thing in the digital experience space!
